I would like the SAS group to have an info table here, also you can bring stuff to fundraise. I am granting you a 10x5 space for free to flea market and sell art and raise some consciousness. Bring books to sell or exchange!

The Union County Peace Council is
holding their 10th annual Peace and World Friendship arts fair in
downtown Cranford. The date is August 5, 1-7 PM, rain date August
12. The theme of this year's fair is "Honoring Our Elders"
with the vision of
small group discussions with elders and young people, especially
those who have been involved in non-violence and war resistance
movements. There will be music, art, and activities.
Once again, the fair
will feature displays of artwork by Union County artists, music
performers who have been newly-discovered at the open mike evenings
around Cranford, an opportunity to learn paper crane origami,
children's events, and representation by local organizations that
foster peace, diplomacy, humanitarianism and an end to
nuclear weapons. There
will be a book exchange table to honor the memory of a deceased
member Fred Sebastian who was a very knowledgeable bookseller.
This year, the
Peace Council is assisting two Cranford college students with fund
raising for humanitarian efforts in Uganda and service learning in
Brazil. The public address system is expected to be powered by solar
batteries and a bicycle generator.
The fair will be held at the Eastman
Plaza Clock Park, located at 2 Eastman St at North Avenue and is a
family-friendly event. There will be free parking. The day will end
with a drum circle for peace so bring your drum or other percussion
instrument. Vendors welcome, $5 suggested donation for a 3 ft. x 3
ft. table. Please visit ucpeace.org for more information or contact
Monica Shimkus at (908) 884-1262.
