Hey people, 

As it stands right now, here is the list of people going to the Genesis Farm Trip Tour as well as the number of people going with each person:

Tobias - 1

Ellen - 5

Mary - 2

Pat - 1

Tammy (Ellen's friend) - 5

Monica - 2

Balam and Maya - 2 

Dina - 1

Total - 19 people

If any of the above information is incorrect, please email me as soon as possible. 

I've chosen to email everyone in the group so that if you want to go but have not reached out to me, this is your last chance to do so. [The trip is this Saturday and I won't be able to ensure we don't leave without you if you don't let me know you want to go (especially if you need a ride. lol).]

As far as the rides: As it stands right now, because only Tobias and I need a ride to the farm, and Maya and Monica have been offering rides, I thought it would be best for Tobias and I to just ride with Maya so that Monica wouldn't have to make the extra trip to meet us in Newark. 

Ellen said she may need a ride from the farm to Newark. If anyone can give Ellen a ride back to Newark, email her [rashe...@yahoo.com]. Also let me know what arrangements are worked out.

There were more people who needed rides, but they have either secured a ride with someone else or they have changed their minds about going to the farm altogether. 

So. . . that's it. lol

Tour starts: 10:00 am

Tour ends: 12:00 pm [You can say at the farm after the tour if you wish]

Other info.: Bring your own lunch. $10 to enter the farm (children do not pay).

Hi Tobias,

 

I’m glad to hear that your meeting went well and I hope it works for your group to visit the Farm.  Currently, Genesis Farm staff is onsite Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  We are closed Wednesday.  To provide you with a Saturday tour, Ninabeth Metcalf, our program director, is able to offer the morning of April 7^th.  Unfortunately, this is the only date that we can offer due to staff availability and other program commitments.

 

A tour would take about two hours and you would get a good overview of the Learning Center as well as the Community Supported Garden.  There is a charge for the tour which is $5.00 per person with a $50.00 minimum.  If you came with the group of ten you spoke of you would make the $50.00 minimum.

 

If the April 7^th, date looks like it will work for you and your group, I will give you all the information you need so that your group has a meaningful and enjoyable experience.   I am sorry that we cannot offer you more dates, but staff wise we are limited on the weekend.  With April 7^th, one month away, I hope this allows you enough time to plan and or adjust your schedules.  I look forward to hearing from you.

I also have a car and will be at Essex County College at 8:15.  John will be with me.  There is room for 2 more.  We'll be returning to Newark.

Keep in mind that the ECC will be closed this Saturday because of Good Friday/Easter/Passover. Therefore, we will have to meet outside. I suggest we meet on Market Street and Martin Luther King Blvd.
