i was thinking maybe we could visit the source of newark's drinking water,
and visit a sewage treatment facility. also i think we ought to visit a commercial farm just for comparison!

i visited the watershed office at echo lake north of rte 23. it is BEAUTIFUL  country but one needs an annual permit to hike there. the office issues hunting licenses, and i saw lots of dudes in camouflage carrying guns. if this creeps you out, this is not the time of year to visit. but we need to write a letter of intention, (education) to the office in newark to get a tour. the office is also an education center!

Great job Monica. Ummmm, not sure if I want to be site seeing amongst "dudes in camouflage carrying guns". I experience that enough where I live and during my travels to New York and every where else I go :-) I want to feel I've escaped chaos even if it's just a couple of hours. :-)

What were they actually hunting? Are there any months when hunting is not occurring there? Lastly, who's writing the letter? :-)

Yes! Absolutely, learn about the process of what is tap water (pharmaceutical waste, contaminated toilet paper), but also learn that you can get free abundant clean water! :)
