With the support of over a hundred dedicated volunteers and community partners, Newark SaS has successfully transformed into a reputable grassroots organization. We are proud to have provided healthy food access, fostered community engagement, and offered educational opportunities to thousands of individuals.
A particularly rewarding, though challenging, aspect of our work has been running our internship program. In this role, I often served as the HR manager, mentor, employer, and coordinator. Our interns achieved remarkable results because we maintained high standards and challenged them to connect theory with real-world practice, focusing specifically on community engagement. By encouraging them to utilize their strengths and providing opportunities to learn new skills, we maximized their contribution to our mission.
