Help us get the word out! The Office of Sustainability is in the process of recruiting an EDI Fellow, a Program Assistant, and 16 Newark youth between the ages of 14 - 24 years for the Climate Justice Ambassadors Program. Please consider sharing the below opportunities with candidates within your network. 

Climate Justice Fellow

• The EDI fellow will assume the role of facilitating and implementing the Climate Justice Ambassador (CJA) program for summer 2022, enabling a group of Newark Youth to become future climate leaders. • Compensation: $21.50 – 30/hour

• Fellowship term: full-time, in-person from May - August 2022 (480 hours total

• Newark residency required.

• Vacancies: 1

Program Assistant

• The role of the Program Assistant is to assist with the Climate Justice Ambassador program and work collaboratively with the City's Chief Sustainability Officer and Climate Action Coordinator, to create a greener, cleaner and healthier Newark. Please see the attached description for further details.

• Compensation: $15/hour

• Program Assistant Term: Full-time May - August (40-hours/week); Part-time September - April ( 20-hours/week)

• Newark residency required

• Vacancies: 1

Climate Justice Ambassador

• The Climate Justice Ambassadors will support the Office of Sustainability conduct community-based outreach regarding climate impacts and local sustainability actions. The ambassadors will learn to bring their own voice, and unique perspectives to important conversations about Newark’s green future and ultimately be the face of Newark's young leaders tackling climate change and environmental injustice.
• CJA Term: Part-time, in-person from mid - July to mid - August (18 hours/week); During school-year: part-time, Asynchronous 
• Newark residency required
• Vacancies: 16
