Dr. Jalonne L. White-Newsome, Senior Program Officer at The Kresge Foundation, will kick off the Jersey Water Works conference as we consider critical questions about New Jersey water infrastructure. How can we shift our water infrastructure policies and practices to ensure adequate investment so that utilities and the communities they serve are resilient? How can we ensure that everyone has access to reliable service?
Dr. Jalonne L. White-Newsome is responsible for the Environment Program's grant portfolio on Climate Resilient and Equitable Water Systems (CREWS) and serves as a member of Kresge's Operationalizing Racial Equity team. Her extensive knowledge in urban water, health, policy, climate resilience, and equity has allowed her to lead programs that yield economic and social change.

Jalonne's wealth of knowledge in environmental and health equity issues allows her to serve many roles, including:
- Adjunct professor at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
- Lead author for the human health chapter of the Fourth National Climate Assessment
- National Academy of Sciences Board on Environmental Change and Society
- Associate Editor of the Environmental Justice Journal
- Co-chair of Health Environmental Funder's Network Steering Committee.
