Hey Tobias,
Hope things are well with you. There is a paid internship opportunity for ECC students in urban agriculture. I would appreciate it if you would look over the flyer and application, and forward this e-mail to any current ECC students you know who would like to learn about/get more involved with urban agriculture this fall. Please let me know if you have any questions about the internship. Hope to hear from you soon and take care!

Best Regards,

Dear Urban Farm Alumni,

We are pleased to offer a new Urban Farm Internship opportunity for current Essex County College students and we need your help in spreading the word!

The primary intent of this internship is to introduce ECC students to the fundamental, scientific, mechanical and technological elements of hydroponic growing as well as the geographical, ecological, historical and social implications of urban farming within our local, regional and global food system.

We have recently retrofitted the soil greenhouse with a brand new, state of the art NFT hydroponic growing system.

This ten-week session will begin on Tuesday, October 15th and conclude on Friday, December 20th.  The internship will consist of nine (9) hours of on-the-job training and  three (3) hours of classroom lectures and discussions for a total of 12 hours per week.

Interns will receive a stipend of $7 per hour for a total of $84 per week.

There are a limited number of spots available for new and returning interns.  See the attached application and flyer for more information.  Please distribute to current Essex County students and feel free to apply for this session as well.

We are currently reviewing applications and scheduling interviews.  The application deadline is Monday, October 7th.

Thank you for your assistance.  Please call Andrea Logan, Intern Coordinator, at 973.732.6314 with your questions.

Warmest regards,
Andrea Logan
Intern Coordinator
