Peace Tobias,

Good day. I hope this message finds you well. I’m excited for this season and was hoping, if you don’t mind, that you could share this with the network. Below is some information on my upcoming events, along with a brief context.

I’m Juliza Garcia, founder of Jewell Of The Earth, Sacred Care from Womb to Soil. I am currently a Student Midwife pursuing my Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) credential, and I bring over 25 years of experience as a global traditional midwife, assistant midwife, and certified full spectrum doula. My work is rooted in honoring families, supporting community wellness, and providing culturally grounded care. All the more important in a state where there is currently only one Black CPM and one Mexican CPM in New Jersey, both are not from Newark.

In the spirit of Women’s Month, International Women’s Day, and World Doula Week, I’m excited to share two upcoming events:

Sacred Womb Talk: Endometriosis

 3/29/26 | Instagram LIVE @jewell_earth

I’ll share my journey as an Endometriosis warrior and birthkeeper, expanding the conversation about holistic birth support and the variety of professionals who provide it.

Sacred Birth & Wellness Tea

4/26/26 | In person at Source of Knowledge Bookstore

An intimate gathering for expecting and postpartum families focused on support, education, and community connection.

The intention behind this work is rooted in community care, to honor and uplift Newark residents and families while highlighting the critical need for more CPMs and traditional midwives. My work also intersects with birth justice and food justice, both of which focus on equitable access to essential resources from culturally competent birth support to healthy food and sustainable urban agriculture.

This grow season, I am open to additional discussions and collaborations to expand these efforts. I am currently enrolled in the Rutgers Master Gardener course in Essex County and serve as a Community Partner/Newark Grower of the Newark Community Food System (NCFS).  I’m excited to connect with others to strengthen community care, host gatherings, and share informational sessions on the value in traditional midwifery and the CPM pathway etc.

Please reach out for more information or to discuss collaboration, and follow along on Instagram for updates. https://www.instagram.com/jewell_earth?igsh=MXJleDM5OW9sOW01OA==

With gratitude and in community,

Juliza Garcia
