We'd like to welcome Abe Grustwiz into our Internship Program.
Abe brings several years of organizing experience and sustainability practices to Newark SAS. Over the span of 12 weeks, he’ll be assisting with the organizing of the following:
1. Ongoing cultivation of our two community gardens—*Garden of Hope, 7 Fairmount Ave, Newark, NJ 07107; *The People’s Garden, 86 ½ Garside Street, Newark, NJ 07104.
2. Newark’s Harvest, a citywide garden tour scheduled for August 15 – 20, 2016.
3. Eco Art Summer Camp—a weekly camp for youth during the month of August 2016 at four different Newark housing complexes from Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In addition to receiving a living stipend, our 12-week internship program allows interns to gain a real world experience in the nonprofit sector and gain hands-on experience in a wide-range of fields. This is also an opportunity to strengthening existing skills while accumulating new ones. Participants are sure to expand their social network and establish lasting relationships with professionals.
