Carla Green has reached out to the Essex County Urban League regarding the use of their facilities to host a Bee Keeping Workshop. The Urban League's location is in Newark.

Ellen, please reach out to Josephine and your contact at NJ beekeepers to inform them that we are moving forward with this. Please read Carla's email below.

Once we get a confirmed date and time we'd need someone to create an e-flyer so we can circulate this.

Hello Cheryl,

It was a pleasure speaking with you today, and the timing mutually perfect.  As per our phone conversation, I would like to request the use of the Urban League's conference facilities for the purpose of having a workshop concerning the collapse of bee colonies and the importance of bees in a sustainable environment.  The proposed date is September 8th, 2012 for about 2 hours, and we estimate the attendance of about 20 people.  We hope to engage and spread awareness and responsibility to the community as well as our fellow Adopt A Lot plotters.  We are hoping to make a considerable impact through education with the possibility of encouraging some to start their own hives.

A time will be set and a flyer created for distribution once confirmation is received from your office.

Included in this email is Mr. Tobias Fox, Community Organizer for PICO.  He will be your contact with regard to logistics. He can be reached at the email above and on his mobile phone; 646-399-0337.

Thank you Cheryl for your time and assistance. We look forward to a continued relationship with ULEC.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or Tobias.

Best,

Carla Green

I just got someone's telephone # who is in the Essex County segment of NJBeekeepers. I will call today and ask them if Sat Sept 8 works for them.

I will say tentatively, as I understand the date is not yet confirmed for the place.
