WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!!!
You can really help our small steps lead to big victories!
We are in need of the following items at site location 483 Washington St, Newark, NJ:
Twelve 4’x8’ raised beds
A tool shed
Two 1100 gallon water tanks
25 cubic yards of enriched soil
3 compost bins
4 benches
1 picnic table
We aim to facilitate hands-on learning of clean alternative energy, agriculture, and ecological building in an urban environment to help residents gain a greater understanding of environmental stewardship and community service.
Our purpose is to ensure that every individual is given unlimited opportunities to make the most of him/herself, and to assist with the creation of self-sustaining communities.
For instance, cultivating a garden requires a lot of labor and materials. Some of the obstacles we've faced come from not having a shed to store our tools, no bathroom facilities or access to water for our plants (especially during droughts), and a shortage of materials to build raised beds, a greenhouse and other structures that would help us become sustainable.
Your unyielding support will allow us to continue hosting educational programs, continue to empower residents, and be an even greater service to our community. Our supporters are always updated on our progress and through our website are able to watch videos and read about our journey.
We thank you and because of your commitment we continue to move onward and upward.....
