Subject: The Bathtub Art Museum is back....and getting an art sculpture home! $5 Foundation Friends!
To: Carye Bye <batht...@gmail.com>

So, many of you may know about my Bathtub Art Museum... it was a project that I started in 2003 with an online museum showcasing all my postcards that I had been collecting since high school- now there are about 350 bathtub-themed postcards in the collection. The summer of 2003 I also curated a huge Bathtub Art Show, Fair, and traveled to Nanaimo, Canada for the "Great" Bathtub Races.  I kept the online museum updated through about 2006, with a monthly e-newsletter. Then I guess I got busy. But I knew this was a project I wanted to return to.

I've always dreamed of having a physical museum and bathtub garden. It wasn't until I saw Brennan Conaway's sculpture earlier this month that I found the perfect home and lucky me, Brennan is excited as well to help me adapt the sculpture so it can live outdoors in my backyard in North Portland! It will most likely be more of a summer museum, but when it isn't a museum, it will be my own personal clubhouse! You must step into the bathtub to get inside!

I'm sending this email to first share my excitement, but I'm also hoping to fundraise a little $ for the costs of the sculpture and getting an outdoor roof on it. Brennan has agreed to do this at a very good deal for the sake of art.

cheers,
Carye Bye, the Bathtub Lady
