Hello,

I am writing to express my many negative experiences with your service, selection, and retail outlets. I have been disappointed with nearly every facet of your operations for as long as I can remember. As an avid fan of food, wine, beer, and spirits I am forced through your government-sponsored monopoly to purchase alcohol via the beer store and LCBO outlets.

Let's start with your "service". Despite the press on your website boasting about the quality and service awards your staff are routinely awarded, my experience across stores in Ontario of all sizes has been one of frustration. More often than not your staff are ignorant about the products they serve, are occasionally rude and dismissive and seem to project an air of entitlement that I assume must come from working for a government monopoly. Even the "wine experts" in your vintages section seem more preoccupied with hiding than helping people.

Now for your product. Your stores have the worst selection I've ever seen. I can literally drive 10 minutes over the ambassador bridge to the nearest Detroit party store and find a wealth of products never seen in your stores - quality beers from around the world and from even Ontario! I assume your decision-making process for product stock is predicated on quotas and corporate interest from huge domestic and international liquor and beer distributors, but I'm still astounded at how predictably awful your selection is. Why can't I make special orders from your stores? If our provincial government wants to run a tax monopoly they should at least provide consumers with the opportunity to access products beyond their general list.

All in all I want you to know I dislike almost everything about your monopoly and I vote based on this issue. At the very least please try to improve your service and selection.

Until then I'll continue to buy my beer in the states.
