The Rough Seas of Adversity’s Trials


When you sail the rough seas of adversity’s trials

keep your eyes fully fixed on the Lord.

Look high to His faithfulness when all falls away

and you’re hanging by the smallest of cords.

For when the trials beset you, He will never forget you

so don’t dare lose sight of His face.

Because there is your Captain...able to direct you

though your ship be tossed out of place.

Water may splash from the sea’s raging torrent

and threaten the stability of your boat.

But focus your heart on the One who is faithful

and your life will still stay afloat.

When your heart is tested, pray through hard times

even when words won’t form on your lips.

When the storm gets harder...you pray all the more

because prayer will add strength to your ship.

Don’t tell the Father how bad the storm is

or how uncomfortable your life has become.

But rather, tell the storm that your God is much bigger

so big that He sent you His Son.

One day the wild waters will calm down & behave

and you’ll be blessed though the season was rough.

For you weathered the storm but walked away with the knowledge

that faith in God is more than enough.
