Dear Friends
We have put into place an advance ticket facility so come the Friday I know we have sufficient dancers, even if all the costs aren't covered. The door price has gone up partly to persuade people to get their tickets in advance. But the real problem is that, in spite of everyone saying what a smashing evening they have had, we need more dancers in order to pay our way. Just look at the figures below! So:
  • Do I put the prices up so that we can have guests every month?
  • Should we have more "club nights", with Duo Mistral and On Bouge friends playing for free?
  • How can we get more people through the door and dancing feet on the floor?
  • Could you persuade a friend or friends to come along?
  • Should I give up and make June 2023 the last meeting of On Bouge? That is on the cards!
I would really like to know what you think, even if you think I am doing it badly. This goes to some 400 people! Speak to me!

These are the details for January. The figures speak for themselves:

WeGotTickets   £108  (=£120 -- £12 WGT's 10%)
Door Money         £98
                               ------
                             £206
less: room £80
         flyers   £9
       EFDSS £11                               (associate membership, insurance)
                    ------
                            --£100
                              --------
                              £106
less: band            £250
                               -------
Profit!!!               --£144  (i.e. from my pocket!)

Sorry dear friends all, please reply to   ch...@gigcb.com   if you want to comment, that is.

Several people have contacted me nevertheless - and indeed I had a call out of the blue this morning from the editor of a Hampstead magazine, which might be a means of attracting local Hampstead residents! so watch this space!

And I also failed to mention that this was in part because some people weren't happy with the price increase at the door, but I need to let you know there was a good reason!

I want On Bouge to be successful, for you and me and all of us. And I'm dead chuffed at some of the comments I have already had. But perhaps there's more we can do - together?

Cheers

Chris
