Insome earlier browsers it was possible to register resize event handlers on any HTML element. It is still possible to set onresize attributes or use addEventListener() to set a handler on any element. However, resize events are only fired on the window object (i.e. returned by document.defaultView). Only handlers registered on the window object will receive resize events.
Note: The example output here is in an , so the reported width and height values are for the , not the window that this page is in. In particular, it will be hard to adjust the window size so as to see a difference in the reported height.
I am working in ArcPro version 2.0.1 and making some maps. When I add a legend the symbols and labels are small. Also, when I resize the legend box the symbols and labels will not adjust to fit. In the legend properties under arrangement , the fitting strategy is set to "Adjust columns and font size." What needs to be changed so that the columns and font size adjusts automatically? Attached are images of the legend with different sizes.
Dan - Thank you for your comment. I looked at this section in the help document and yes it will format items all at once. I worked with this, however, this will turn off and on legend items and size the patch to a width and height etc.
What I am hoping to find is something in the fitting strategy that will allow the legend items to expand to fit the entire legend. Currently they will expand to a point and then stop. Below is a series of screen shots showing the increase until they don't. I could manually configure each layer size for now, but it would be a time saver if I don't have to do this every time.
I have experienced this issue very recently. In keeping with what has been said you must select the individual element you want to adjust and adjust both the TEXT and PATCH (Symbol) for the element selected. I found the attached link to be useful. See the Update Legend Patch Size Section.
First of all, I really love the beta of Affinity Photo!!! Just played around with it a little bit and noticed that it is not possible to resize the document with percentage values(or I missed it) - only with pixel value. For me this is a big thing because I'm always trying out sizes with the zoom and than resize the document according to it.
I miss this option too. You can resize percentage wise by adding an asterisk and a fraction after the pixel value, for example if you want to scale down your image (according to your attachment) to 50 % enter 1280 px * 0.5 in the "Width" field. Not very convenient but maybe this is helpful :)
Those above might be working but there should be a more convenient way to downsize the image (just like the option in Export --> jpg). I would rather have this resize option in the main image adjustment menu, because for instance using unsharp mask after downsizing should be the way to go I think.
Speaking of resizing, Affinity Photo saves documents and requires exporting to save as a .tiff, .jpeg, etc. In the 'Resize Document' box on any .nef file I work on the DPI is shown as 96. Now on Photoshop, if you drop 'resample' and increase the resolution you get a corresponding decrease in the size of the image. This doesn't happen with Photo. How about linking DPI and image size so you can get a high resolution and smaller size simultaneously? And since DPI changes do not change the image size, what exactly is Photo doing with regards to resolution?
I believe that you can record macros for this using a method similar to the macro described here. However, the macro must use Filters->Distort->Equations to do the resizing. That means that you cannot choose the resizing algorithm; you're limited to whatever undocumented method that Distort->Equations uses.
I agree with eobet on this. Every image processing software I've used until today had the option of resizing an image by percents. I never had the need to resize by yards or meters. Apart from that it would be very easy to add rescaling by percent. It's been four years since this thread was opened. I have no idea why Affinity doesn't bother to add this feature.
It wouldn't help, without some significant other changes. For resizing, macros record/remember only the final result, not the method of calculating it. Simply having the ability to specify a percentage would not change that.
I am unable to lengthen an object without increasing height and width. This led me to a 2 year old post with the answer in a video but but the video links dead! Through all my trial and error my attempts either fail or just scale or distort the shape. Put simply, if I draw a cube, how do I resized to make it a rectangular cuboid?
I am unable to resize the front panel to a smaller window size. I have set the minimum window size to (0,0), unchecked maintain proportions and scale all objects. I had originally set the minimum window size to 1012x616. When I close the property window and re-open it, the settings still read back (0,0) so they are being saved, but I am unable to shrink the window size smaller than 1012x616.
Also, there is open space on both sides in both dimensions, so I am not running into any front panel objects. What property/properties I am missing that is locking the minimum panel size? One last thing is that I am able to resize the windows of any SubVIs I have in the same project and edit their minimum window size and they respond as expected.
Recompling didn't help and I also checked that the user is able to resize the window. Even if I change the run time size to a smaller resolution, it remains 1024x616. I am compairing VI Properties to my other SubVIs and not noticing any different settings either. Other thoughts?
I have attached the VI that has been gutted of all its functionality and dependencies on SubVIs, but still has the same front panel objects and still exhibits the same problem of not being able to resize down. I am using Labview 2012 as well.
This seems like it should have a simple answer, but I can't seem to find it. I have a VI that contains 12 subpanels each within a seperate pane. Each of those subpanels loads a VI. When I resize the main VI, I want all the VIs in the subpanels to resize as well. I've set the subpanel to fit the pane.
I tried programmatically setting the VI front panel bounds to match the subpanel when the main VI's resize event fires. I get an error stating that front panels bounds cannot be set when that VI is in a subpanel.
In your resize event, maybe you can unload the subpanel, resize it, then reload on mouse up. It might be disturbing not to see the VI in the subpanel while resizing. Just a thought and there is probably a better way. If there is then someone will definately reply.
worth noting: IIRC it doesn't do anything to modify the panel or window bounds of the VI if it's loaded in a subpanel. What you need to do is to read the pane size and origin and fit what's on the subpanel VI FP to that.
The answer was even simpiler than I imagined. I just didn't have the option to "scale all object with front panel" (under VI Properties>Window Size) selected in the VIs that I load. Once I did that, they all scaled as expected.
My tests show this not to be true. Attached is a Parent and Child VI. Run the child and resize the window. You will see the indicator "NewBnds" change as the window is resized. Now run Parent. It will load the Child VI into a sub panel that is set to fit to the pane size. Now if you resize the Parent window, it will resize the subpanel, and the Child Vi will change in size. However the "NewBnds" value does not change, meaning the : Panel Resize event is not being fired in the Child VI, when a subpanel is resized in a Parent VI.
So I switched a page to the new responsive engine, firstly it sucks and makes no sense.
Secondly, I can no longer drag my group to resize it, do I have to manually type in a size now or something? Whats going on?
For the vast majority of images the answer is no, you don't have to resize. When you upload an image to Squarespace, it is resized into several different dimensions to ensure the smallest possible size is loaded on any given page while still maintaining the image's quality.
Squarespace automatically creates 6 sizes of your image for use in different scenarios. This is a super-awesome feature of our system. Although, our system can't necessarily optimize your image as well as you can. Also, the original may come into play on large, high resolution displays ... so the image you upload should only be as large as you're comfortable with putting online.
The image you upload should also be compressed to load as fast as possible without hurting the image quality. For my photography, I use a max-width of 1980 pixels and run them through JPEGmini for compression - works great.
Hi, I'm a new trial user here. First, I wanted to extend thanks and appreciation for a very elegant look and feel to Squarespace. I wish you all the best. I am running into a resizing/image quality reduction problem when uploading simple screenshots. A very simple need on my potential Squarespace site is uploading screenshots of stock charts. These charts are often less than 200kb, however, when I upload them to the Squarespace trial site, they become blurry and the image quality goes down significantly. Also, I'm unable to click on them and see them in full quality. I'm sure there's an easy way to upload ultra sharp screenshots, as the example photos on my trial site are very sharp and crisp. If we could somehow make screenshot uploading for stock charts very very easy, sharp, allow resizing to be toggled on/off, and allow for some more options for the visitors, I'm certain that many in the trading/investing community would check out Squarespace's offerrings, as there's a trend now for investors/traders to make blogs as journals. If you go to
stocktwits.com, you can see how easy it is there to upload your screenshot, and then it can be viewed super clearly instantly. I know that I'm no web wizard like you all, but I can't tell you how many potential new customers you'd attract if you could make this feature as good or better than the stocktwits experience.
