The latest SR3500 ( An UPGRADE OF SR2300) Optical Mark Reader has
remarkable reading performance and it is touted to be the most user-
friendly optical mark reader in the market today.

The advance hardware designs guarantees smooth and efficient scanning
of OMR forms.

It can read checks / Crosses and Circles apart from Fully Shaded
Bubbles.

Speed of Reading Over 3000 sheets /hour and that to in duplex mode .

It has mark view software to transfer data directly into excel .While
reading the barcode as well .Thus is the most futuristic yet Indian
Design

SR6500 ( An UPGRADE OF SR5500) OMR Scanner is 6000 scans/hour with
Reject Option.

Ok I have been asked to write something on performance of Sekonic SR
Series Scanners . I researched lot many data before going into
conclusions of any Scanners . Sekonic OMR Scanners by far and large a
sturdy scanners, those who had been using other models would find
little different but would be surprise to see their performance .

I visited one of the Customer ,who is a heavy user of production
scanning and have been using 2 SR5500 and 2 SR6500 . Volume that they
have yearly is around 3 .5 to 4 millions per annum and sometime of the
year they need to scan over 100,000 forms per day and sometimes much
lesser .

They are quiet satisfied to see its performance on various grounds

1. Data Accuracy by far and large is very consistent . They do not
need to callibrate the scanner at all and had been using the scanner
for last 5 years and thus purchcased Sekonic SR6500 which is a better
upgrade of SR5500.

2. The Ease of use is pretty high , call it a software or hardware ,
they found it pretty easy to get the data in excel file at Clock of a
mouse only , no need to format data .

3. Even Air Conditoners are not a necessary option for them .

4 With its power safe mode , Scanner attracts greener IT and thus less
consumption powerall and due to which you can actually run the scanner
24 hours ! scanner can initself decide when it want to take rest , no
heating.

5. Closed so not much cleaning from external dust , specially in the
countries like India, and South east Asia , Far Asia

6.Scanner is easy to maintain , just a small cleaning of the rollers,
SR6500 has increased its roller life cycle to 8 Lacs to 10 Lacs scan
which is very high .

7. Its U Type Rejector helps the Customer to maintain the series ,
which is actually a very high need for this customer as he do double
scanning .

SR3500 and SR6500 are good scanners but I found some weak points as
well in the same

1. Its very heavy scanner Sr3500 is around 20 KG , while SR6500 is
around 45 KG , people say it becomes difficult to transport from one
end to other, for some they say they carry using the Strolleys of 25
inches so not a problem , any way its just what I felt

2. SR3500 and Sr6500 has a very good software markview, but some
features of scantools like scoring or editing is not there in markview
which should have been there , Came to know that software like Vision
OMR have feature of online and editing module

3. I do not like Noise , Sekonic scanners are bit noisy as compared to
others specially 6500

If you can manage the above, I think Sekonic scanners are
comparitively inexpensive and priced right for various markets , can
be a good investment for Universities and Institutes
