The last duck I shot this past season was a stunning, gorgeous greenhead that came in at mid-morning. It was lit up with sunlight, straight overhead, and I swear I could see a glint in its eye. My shot broke a wing, and the bird tried to stay aloft, head up and alert, the single wing pumping furiously. Then it went down behind a levee, on the far side of a channel. After 45 minutes of trying to find that bird, I had nothing to show for it. It was a tough way to end the season. That left a gnawing in my gut that stuck around for a while.

Children of Light are the most common source of Winged Light (and the only source available to new players). They are bright golden white glowing characters who look like short Sky kids without capes.

Please refer to the Children of Light page for all their specific locations across the realms.

Wing Buffs can only be collected once the player has traveled through all the realms and can then unlock them through Spirit Friendship Trees.

Please refer to the Wing Buffs page of more information.

Maximum winged light is only possible for players who started at or before the visit of the earliest traveling spirit that hasn't revisited, because players must have purchased the Wing Buff from each Traveling Spirit so far. Each time a traveling spirit revisits, newer players can grow closer to the maximum number of winged light. Revisit means a visit after the first time visiting as a traveling spirit, so the second visit and onward as a traveling spirit would be a revisit.

In addition to first visits by Traveling Spirits, the maximum possible winged light increases whenever the latest season adds new Children of Light, or whenever a new tier 2 Wing Buff is added (e.g., associated with a new Tier 2 Cape).

It takes numerous days to collect all winged light due to the Shattering Memories that are only available on certain days. All are needed, and it is difficult to collect the 6 winged light from these memories before the next traveling spirit comes to raise the maximum. This is especially troublesome for players trying to get all the winged light while catching up on traveling spirits, ascending revisiting spirits.

Gaining Winged Light increases the number of wedges you have to fly. At the start of the game, you obtain your first wedge during the Isle of Dawn tutorial by collecting your first Child of Light and forming your cape.

Each wedge (at the top of screen) means one flap of your "wings" when you fly, which will grant you the energy to fly further and higher. If you click the wedge icon at the top of your screen, it will show you how much Winged Light you have found so far and how many more you need to level up (it will also open the Expression Menu).

When you have collected enough Winged Light to level up, the wedge icon will have a red dot. Click on it to obtain another wedge. After the level up animation your energy is refilled so it can be an opportunity to fly further.

Information on your wedges is also displayed on the back of your cape (see Cape Energy). Your cape has one glowing star (or outline around a glowing star) for each available wedge of cape energy. The stars/outlines are dark if you have used up that wedge's energy and need to recharge.

When a player loses Winged Light, it will fly away from the player and appear as orange wings with a white light countdown column. The player can try to pick them up again, but they will break after 20 seconds, or immediately in final section of the Eye of Eden (Spoilers!), and the player will have lost their light and ability to fly, so it is often very hard to reach them. Other players may help with picking up the lost Winged Light before time runs out.

You will know that the Winged Light is truly lost when you see a slashing animation and hear a sword-cutting sound. The lost wing(s) will turn back into Children of Light and can be found again in their original location, but there is no way of knowing which of the Children of Light were lost and where to find them again. It is completely random. Since Patch 0.19.0, you can find your lost Winged Light by opening a Map Shrine and looking at what Realms your lost Winged Light are in. Lost Winged Light can be recollected from the Children of Light that appear in their original form, not to be confused with the sparkle left behind by a Child of Light. Note that Map Shrines don't show the exact amount of winged light missing in each area, they just show if a winged light is missing or not.

I found The West Wing in a time of need. Pending college graduation, recently single, looming future, and so many feelings, the Bartlett administration took me into its arms like a de-toothed de-clawed brown bear who luvd to hug.

However, at this junction in my life, I cannot say that I recommend you, dear readers, find this show. While it is actually the best show in the world, I find myself going through heartache and my first feelings of hope have now been replaced by the hounding of inadequacy. I think they call that growing up. Anyway, here are the reasons you should and should not lose and find The West Wing. Readers and viewers, beware.

This is a model of the flying wing the bad guys assigned to transport the Ark of the Covenant from Egypt back to Germany. In the movie it blew up before it ever flew - but now it takes to the skies in X-Plane.

Assumptions - Dimensions come from analyzing stills from the movie and comparing aircraft size to "6-foot" people in the scenes. Weight is estimated for similar-sized aircraft, including the later real-world Horten Ho 229.

Since this is a prototype plane, I used engines that existed only as protoypes - two 16-cylinder double supercharged DB 600-series (roughly 603G) producing about 2,000 hp each. Cruise is around 250 kts, depending on weight and alitude - it could probably go faster except for the drag of those massive fixed landing gear - - but that's the way Reynolds sketched it. Range is about 1,800 miles cruising at 17,000 or thereabouts and leaned appropriately.

It seemed a waste to hide the view through the transparent nose with a traditional instrument panel, so stealing an idea from the Heinkel bombers, I put the instruments on side panels - left for flight instruments, right for engines. 1936-era instruments - no VORs or GPS.
