Outpatient Services at Hamad Hospital for Rehabilitation and Prosthetics Suspended
Today, Wed., 16 Sept. 2026, Due to Transportation Crisis
In light of the announcement by the Public Bus Companies Union that transportation services will be fully suspended on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, including transportation for medical staff and patients to their workplaces and healthcare facilities, including private, public, and international hospitals and medical centers, due to the unavailability of the operational and maintenance supplies required to ensure the safety of buses and the continuity of the service;
His Highness Sheikh Hamad Hospital for Rehabilitation and Prosthetics, regrettably, announces the suspension of outpatient services at the hospital today, Wednesday, 16 September 2026, across all hospital departments. Services will resume on Thursday, 17 September 2026.
The Hospital Administration emphasizes that this emergency suspension directly affects the ability of medical staff, patients, and beneficiaries to access medical and rehabilitation services, further exacerbating patients' suffering, particularly amid the severe humanitarian and healthcare conditions experienced by the people of the
#Gaza Strip.
Accordingly, the Administration of Hamad Hospital urgently appeals to international institutions, relevant authorities, and humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately to provide the operational and maintenance supplies needed for the transportation of medical staff and patients. Such support would help ensure the continuity of medical services and ease the burden on patients and their families.
