Dear all,

we are happy to announce that we published our Fieldbus Communication Model for OMNeT++ (FiCo4OMNeT) today. The nightly versions are stable now and contain only minor interface changes. Feel free to test the examples or build your own simulations.

* CAN-Bus part is stable
* FlexRay is under test

The model focusses on automotive use-cases but should be applicable to other problems as well. The model works great with our real-time Ethernet model (CoRE4INET). We will release a further package containing gateways between both technologies soon.

You can find further information on the website: https://fico4omnet.realmv6.org/
* Direct link to the nightly versions: https://fico4omnet.realmv6.org/files/fico4omnet_nightly

If you have questions don't hesitate to contact us!

Best regards

For an CAN-Ethernet Gateway you have to extend the Host with the modules from INET. Then you have to write your own CAN-Application for Translating the messages.
We are working on the release of a new set of modules called SignalsAndGateways. It will include CAN to Ethernet gateways. The basic functionality is given, but we are not ready for an open source release yet.

Best regards

So I can't run Ethernet and FICO4omnet on the same project?

Best regards

Sure! You have to run it in the same project. Just create a new OMNeT++ Project, set net and FiCo4OMNeT in the referenced projects and take from both projects what you need.
