Dear all,

Currently I have OMNeT 4.1 installed. For testing purposes, I'd like to install 4.2.2, but at the same time keep my old version.I don't necessarily need them to run at the same time. Could you indicate me, what steps are necessary in order to maintain 2 different Omnet versions properly installed under Linux/Debian?

Kind regards, Christian

Hi Omar,

Seems to be a nice workaround. I will try this, I just hope that I will be able to fully access the workspace, which is placed in the home folder of my original user account.

You can install both version for the same user. The only thing is that whichever version you want to use from  a shell you MUST source that cersions's 'setenv'  script...

I.e. change to the root dir and execute:

$ . setenv

also start the IDE from that shell. This way you can even use the two versions parallel... Just be sure that ONLY one of them is in your actual path...

Rudolf, that worked like a charm, thank you.
