Hello,
I have started my research in the area of cognitive radio networks. As i am very new to this area I am unaware about its simulation.I have found that Omnet++ is a good platform for CRN simulation. Please provide me the initial guidelines related to designing of a CRN environment which shall include primary users, secondary users and mainly the channel availability of SUs. Also I have heard about INET and MIXIM in Omnet++.Is anyone of these required for CRN.

Thank you in advance...
Monisha

Thank you for the paper...this means MIXIM is more favourable for CRN simulation. Am I true?

Yes.
It is good.
Please check the attached papers.

crSimulator, is this a built in framework for CRN in Omnet++, like INET, MIXIM etc ? whether the properties of CR are implemented in this crSimulator?

Yes. Built for Omnet and CR functionality is already implemented as outlined in the paper.
It is imported to Omnet, just like Mixim.
The major shortcoming is that it does not support mobility.

Hey Ronoh Kennedy,

I just started using the crSimulator you proposed but i am having some problems with it. I don't know how to get results about throughput when running the simulation. I am fairly new to OMNET++ so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

hi,
am also doing research in cognitive radio networks. Is Omnet++ useful with respect to cognitive radio networks? especially for cooperative spectrum sensing and obtaining energy efficiency. or is there any other simulation tool more favourable?
regards
SUMI
