[Announcement] Simu5G 1.2.0 released

Hi all!

the Simu5G team is happy to announce that the new version of Simu5G (v1.2.0) has been released!  

Check it out and download it from the Simu5G website.

In this release,  full support to ETSI MEC and real-time emulation has been implemented. This means that your 5G network simulations can include ETSI MEC elements in order to test the impact of MEC apps on the network, as well as to prototype MEC apps and evaluate their performance in a fully configurable 5G network scenario. 

You can also connect *real* MEC apps and test them in real time, leveraging Simu5G's real-time capabilities. More info on the implemented MEC model can be found here.

Moreover, we implemented lightweight models for background Base Stations and User Equipments, which allow one to simulate extremely large network scenarios without slowing down your simulations (and emulations!) with no loss of accuracy. More info are available here.

Simu5G v1.2.0 requires OMNeT++ 6.0 (pre10 or pre11) and INET 4.3.2.
