This message can be  generated in the line if (interfaceReq == nullptr && destAddr.isMulticast()) {

If the value of destAddr is invalid, isMulticast throws the exception.

In resume, the application module doesn’t send a valid detination address to the Udp layer

Hi all, I'm unable to understand what's wrong with my code, I'm trying to use Veins and a MEC at the same time: when the first car sends a packet to the MEC I have this error message:
```
Address contains no value -- in module (inet::Udp) DummyScenario.car[0].udp (id=519), at t=1.262s, event #11335
```
In order to reproduce this bug, you can find my simulation here: https://github.com/AlessandroSpallina/SyntheticTraceGenerator/tree/master/simulations/Villarosa

Any help with that?

I'm also trying to use the Monaco mobility model but I don't see any vehicle neither in SUMO nor in Omnetpp, the simulation for that is here: https://github.com/AlessandroSpallina/SyntheticTraceGenerator/tree/master/simulations/Monaco

Let me know if you have a tip jar for the help

Hello,

I am working with simu5G and I also am getting the same error. But this doesn't happen always. For example for a shorter simulation time the simulation runs without any error but when I have a simulation for around 5000s, then after around 1000s have passed it gives this error. In my system I have both 5G infrastructure network communication and  device to device communication enabled.

What is the cause for this error and any hint on how to rectify this?

Thank you!

Dear Mr.Alfonso,

Thank you for  your response.

I tried to use the latest version of INET but to work with this I should use the latest version of Simu5g as well and I have faced compilation errors in windows. Therefore I am trying to work with the previous version of INET. Could you please let me know where exactly it needs to be looked into in INET for this error message generation. Because I tried to search for this error and I haven't been able to find out the code location.

Thank you!

Dear Mr. Alfonso,

Yes, INET 4.5 compiles in windows it's a problem with simu5g. And for project reasons I have to stick to windows and can't work with Linux.

Considering INET 4.4.1 could you please let me know from which file does this error  "Error: Address contains no value -- in module (inet::Udp) UNetwork_5g.gnb38.udp (id=7463), at t=11548.0180007176s, event #2085293921" is being generated? I still haven't been able to locate the file which creates this error.

Thank you!

Dear Mr. Alfonso,

I am working on a 5g enabled  uav communication scenario and I have both infrastructure based and direct uav-uav communication enabled in my system. I use OMNeT 6.0.1, INET 4.5 and simu5g 1.2.2 (Both INET and simu5g were installed from the OMNeT IDE itself) in Linux. The ground network consists of 38 gnbs and the number of uavs in the system varies depending on the time of the day. The requirement is to simulate for one whole day.  However, as a simple scenario to simulate, I set the simulation time for 30000s. Upto around 15800s simulation runs without any error and then I got this error ---> Error: Address contains no value -- in module (inet :: Udp) Network_5g.gnb.udp (id =1095), at t=15850.0235002776s, event #3039425213

As you have mentioned that this error message has been removed in the latest inet version, I suppose you refer to INET 4.5. If so, what could be the reason I am still getting this error? Any hint or help is appreciated.

Thank you!
Shashini
