Hello to All!

I am new to OMNet++ but I undertsand how to use it. What I am trying to do is Simulate a WSN with a fixed number of nodes. The nodes are wireless, at this point I want a fixed topology ( in a future work the nodes wil be Adhoc). The objective of this simulation is the evalutation of diffrente protocols, the very first will be a Simple Flooding Protocol.

The topology will have a Sink node and a Generator. The question is: Using only OMNet++, will I be able to implement this simulation? Do I need to make the jumo to INET?

Thanks a lot!

If you want Wireless nodes you need inet/inetmanet or mixim

If the nodes are IP inet/inetmanet

Yes, from my simple experience with Omnet
you can simulate this sinario ,
Look at the framework called  Castalia. It is decated for WSN
and there is available tutorial

Castilia is dedicated for WSN. So you need to go through the document of it. It is the product of NICTA. You just visit their site then you can get it easily.

Thanks a lot to all for your Advice.

I quite understand how to use OMNet++, so I will give it a try to simulate this simple scenario, I don't want to involve other variables yet. Castalia seems like the next step.

This Scenario will help to test how a flood works in a topolgy. I will create 3 tipes of submodules, a Sink wich will be the end of the comunication, a Generator wich will be sending periodical messages and 4 wireless nodes acepting direct messages.

The things that i have in consideration is that I need a loop in my programming in the nodes to send the message to the listeners. Wich brings me to a dilema... how do I simulate the area of transmision, here is my first tought: Using a figure, a circle around each node, if the circles overlap they can hear each other. Sorry if this idea is bad, but this is my first attemp using more than 2 wireless nodes.
