Hi All,
Could you please advise whether it would be possible to simulate the Distributed Routing Algorithm as described by the author in (please see attached) "A Distributed Routing Algorithm for Datagram Traffic in LEO Satellite Networks"? I am working with OMNeT++ 5.6.2 and INET. I have also added os3 (satellite tracking library for OMNeT++/INET-Framework) but not sure if the mobility module is required (could use virtual node topology). I can see that the author used ns-2 simulator but OMNeT++ looks much more promising. I am just not sure of the limitations in OMNeT++ and how can I create a new proprietary routing protocol. I am also not sure if this is the correct approach but I was thinking to take one of the protocols used for MANET networks, such as AODV and adjust the routing configuration (if possible) such that it reflects the DRA behavior.
Assuming that implementing DRA protocol in OMNeT++ is feasible, could you please also provide some advise on extending this unicast routing into multicast?
Your advice would be much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Piotr
