Hello. My name is Juan Luis. Firstly I want to greet the group.

During the last year I've been doing my final degree project using
OMNeT++. Our first purpose was to build and set up an IEEE 802.1ah
provider backbone bridge using OMNeT++ but finally we realized that
the RSTP, MVRP, 802.1Q, 802.1ad implementations were needed for that.

I know that the models I've done are not perfectly according to the
standards terms, and I also know that this is not the usual way to
work into an open source community. I just wanted to publish the work
and offer it to anyone that could be interested or want to comment.

https://github.com/juanlugm/OMNeT---PBBN

The source includes the following models: (All of them are running
RSTP and MVRP over their network)

Ethrnet host (Tagged or untagged traffic generator)
802.1Q switch
802.1ad switch
802.1ah Provider Backbone Bridge
Tester. (Programmable traffic generator 802.1Q, 802.1ad, 802.1ah,
BPDU, MVRPDU,...)

Validation tests and examples are included. I am translating all the
documentation and it will be upladed to github soon.

Hi Alfonso,

I would like to assign different priorities to the messages generated from different applications of a host and send them to the queue which serves the high priority messages.

Similarly the switches in the network has to do the same function.

I have created a model earlier using DSQueue1 which is based on DSCP values and works as IP based priority. But I would like to build an Model which is message specific priority using PCP field. Kindly let me know if there is any models in Inet supporting this or how can I do this.

Thanks,
Karthick

For IP is Diffservs,

But for switches there isn’t any implemented. If you want a switch with different queues priorities in function of the type of traffic you will need to implement it
