Simu5G documentation

Hi,

I was using 5G Lena until recently to run some Reinforcement Learning experiments. However, they simulate the 5G RAN but not an Edge component.
I am considering using simu5G since it does both, but have noticed there is no official documentation for the API on the website.
Is there any other documentation available elsewhere?

Hi,

unfortunately there is no API documentation at the moment. The website provides a list of relevant papers that describe the architecture and main functionalities of Simu5G: http://simu5g.org/related.html

If you are specifically interested in using the ETSI MEC model, the following paper might be useful:

A. Noferi, G. Nardini, G. Stea, A. Virdis, "Rapid prototyping and performance evaluation of ETSI MEC-based applications", Elsevier Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory, Vol. 123, February 2023, 102700, DOI: 10.1016/j.simpat.2022.102700

Most importantly, the package includes a few simulation examples that you can use as reference to build your own simulations.

Thanks Giovanni for your reply. I am kind of in the same scenario as well. What I think lacks in OMNET is how to easily collect data. Setting up a network seems easier that collecting metrics like CQI, MCS, SINR, RSSI, RSRQ which I think are the main reason why we run the simulations. Is there an example that shows how metrics like that can be collected?
