Dear All

i am using veins traci_launchd to modify and added RSU with the same configuration with the vehicle except avoiding that is related to traci code.   Here i want to ask some Questions:

1-  i want to make fixed number of vehicles  and when they reach their destination to add another at the back so that it will be constant thought the simulation.( as i want for calculating average performance experience)

2- i want to make a division among generated vehicles into different application types so that the will communicate by different application to RSU. so how can i make this thing done.mean   let as say 10% CBR, 20 % data  and so on among the generated vehicles have this kind of communication with RSUs.

i appriciate your kind help

Thank you in advance

Hi, good evening,

at our research group we've developed a modification of Traci that
creates a constant number of vehicles in the network.

It's in early stages but is fully functional.
You can download it at this webpage
http://www.grc.upv.es/software/vacamobil.html

Regards,

Dear  Alvaro Torres Cortes

Thank you very much for your reply me.

So........

=>    is that i have to use VACaMobil  module  instead of  TraCIScenarioManager?
=>   so does i have to modify the Sumo files i am using and

=>  among the generated nodes is there a way to give diffirent class of application accordingly. mean  like

10% CBR, 20 % data  and so on of Vehicles to use different kind of communication to RSU.

Thank you again for your Kind help

Hi,

The fact is that currently our work at the documentation process is not well done.
So, to make an abstract of the necessary steps to make it work:
1- First of all, create a copy of your workspace (Just In Case)
2- Inside the "VACaMobil" Folder you should see the "traci" and "VACaMobil" folders.
In case you are using INET, there is no problem, just substitute the traci folder and add the VACaMobil one.
If you are using Veins I think you should adapt both, the new added code at "TRACI" (solved some bugs with teleporting vehicles) and the Vacamobil Code. I think changes should be minimal.

3- In your simulation subtitute the TraciScenarioManagerLaunchd with Vacamobil.
4- in your ini file add the line "**.manager.doNothing = true" (Where manager is the actual name of the Vacamobil module in your simulation)
5- Test that your simulation works exactly the same as previously did.

--------------

6- If you look at the .ned file of Vacamobil you should notice two values "meanNumberOfCars" which you should set to the desired number of vehicles at your simulation and "carHysteresisValue" which is intended to provide somo variation in the number of cars maintaining the desired mean value.

Just by setting those two parameters and setting to false "doNothing" it should work.

The usage of different OMNeT modules depending on the type of vehicle is not implemented yet...

Regards,

Thank you again for your Kind help
