THAKUR said that He has so much of forgiveness that our sins never
reach Him.
Sri Madhav Swamiji used to quote this and would assure us, making us
realise how fortunate we are to be protected by the overflowing grace
of Thakur.
When i asked him about Thakur's rigid doctrines, His punishments, His
rigid impositions.... Swamiji explained that these were just for the
sake of maintaining social norms...
Thakur's benevolence has no restraints... it is overflowing and
eternal.
When Thakur wanted to maintain distance from a disciple because of
certain misdeed, He used to say- 'Tui Sitaram ke tyag kor.' [ you
leave Sitaram].
But He never said that He is leaving His devotee. Because that's
impossible.
He is the only shelter... only source of solace... the eternal
Companion.
THAKUR said- ' how can anyone remain with so much of bliss alone?'
He is a personification of bliss... the 'ananda' or bliss he is
willing to share is His innate nature... and the dispersal of Ananda
among sinful, petty, downtrodden, selfish, worldly commoners is the
purpose of His leela. His blessing was so liberal... no one was
denied-- be it sages or prisoners, brahmins or untouchables, hindus
or
muslims. and we, who are His 'devotees' are thereby secure... WE are
really fortunate. all WE HAVE TO DO IS TO LOVE HIM, and to obey
Him...
so that we become His own... 'devotees' in true sense of that word.

Our lives are drenched in His grace... we live as He is within us, we
smile as He gifts us joys, we weep when He deprives us to make us
inward, we keep on doing so many things.... just because He makes us
do ...
everything is floating in the motion of that Divine will.
Its MAYA that blindfolds us, and compells us to emphasise on our
ego...
the pronouns of 'I', 'ME', 'MY' are so irrelevant, so foolish, so
meaningless, unless one's existence blends in the Divine.
Thakur Sitaramdas Omkarnathdev used to say that untill that stage, we
should maintain the feeling of DASOHAM[ 'I am His servant']...
when time comes, the Lord will remove 'DA'...and what remains is
SOHAM['I am He'].

गुकारश्चान्ध्कारो हि रुकारस्तेज उच्यते
अज्ञानग्रासकं ब्रह्म गुरुरेव न संशयः (guru gita)
ie, "gu" is the name for darkness, and "ru" is the name for light,
therefore he who removes the darkness of ignorance, he is called a
Guru.
THAKUR says in SUDHAR DHARA-
guru sama mahajan keho nahi ar
guru labh hole pore ghuchere sansar
tatodin rog shok dukho jala bhoy
jatodin gurudeb na den asroy
sri gurur komol hasto mastake arpile
kleskor jaha kichu sab jay chole
guru brahma guru visnu guru maheswar
sakal debota guru guru paratpar
sristi sthiti loykari sri guru amar
guru guru joy guru bolo bar bar
guru mantre sadho jivwa boro pabe ros
se roser kachhe jeno sakali niros
guru mantra istae kono nahiko probhed
tin ti ekti .... iha bolechen ved
bolo guru smaro guru joy guru joy
orey Das Sitaram hobirey nirbhoy.
Translation is being attempted—
Compared to Guru, there is none so great,
When Guru is attained, worldly ties separate.
Ailment, grief, sorrow, pains, fear will linger,
Till Gurudev does not give shelter.
When Guru bestows his hand on one’s head,
All things which cause pain will surely fade.
Guru is Brahma, Vishnu, Maheswar- the trinity,
Guru personifies all Gods, Guru is Almighty.
Guru controls Creation, Destruction and Sustenance,
‘Guru Guru Jai Guru’ chant always.
Chant ‘Guru’ Nam in tongue, its flavour assess,
In comparison to it, all will seem tasteless.
Guru, Mantra, Ista are not different,
Three comprise one- the Vedas do state.
Say ‘Guru’, think ‘Guru, chant ‘Jai Guru’ always,
O Das Sitaram, you will become fearless.

Kinkar Sevananda, an intimate sevak of Sri Sri Thakur, has encountered many divine incidents while accompanying Thakur. Here is a recollection from his early days-
Sevanandaji was returning to his village after seeing Thakur. A senior neighbour, Aditya De scolded him, telling him not to go to saints… these sadhus are frauds… Kirtan groups are like flock of jackals, shouting behind the leader.. etc etc..
Sevanandaji was very much hurt. Later, when Sevanandaji told Thakur about this ridicule, Thakur started laughing aloud. Thakur instructed him to send ‘Abhay vani’, ‘Sudhar dhara’ and some books through parcel to the address of Aditya De.
Then started Thakur’s invisible leela… Aditya De used to remain in a pensive mood, he once ‘saw’ Thakur playing sitar,… once he dreamt that Thakur is coming in a bullock cart, and took him in the cart when he offered pranam.
Just few days after this dream, it all came true. He saw Thakur coming in a cart.. the same scene of the dream… Thakur called him and took him in the cart. Aditya De prayed for diksha, and his wish was fulfilled on that day itself~!
....LEELA MADHURAM....

Thakur Sitaramdas Omkarnath nurtured a lot of love and respect for Hanuman Prasad Poddarji [Bhai ji, the founder of Gita press]. Hanuman Prasadji was indeed an exemplary devotee, a divine soul, who has dedicated his life to popularisation of Sanatan shastras. He revered Thakur intensely, and the Bengali edition of Ramcharitmanas has been influenced by Thakur's translation, and Poddarji has written some pages to pay homage to Thakur. Here is an account of a meeting of Thakur and Poddarji..

Smt Aditi Devi [a related Grand daughter of Rabindranath Tagore], resident of Santiniketan, had written- 'we were staying at Boro Akhra, Nabadwip. where an elaborate Yagna was being conducted by Thakur [Omkarnathdev].... a large festival indeed.. on the 2nd day, Thakur was doing Paath [spiritual recital], and the Natmandir was filled with thousands of listeners... after about half an hour of recital, there was a flash of light, which moved over Thakur's face and torso from left to right. I thought that someone might be clicking a photo, but then I visualized an unworldly sight! Thakur's upper part was transformed into Four Armed Gauranga murti...! I thought that it must be my illusion, and rubbed my eyes several times, but I saw the same Sight everytime! ... Whenever whenever I contemplate that Image, my hairs stand on end..!
