The auspicious day has come again… Omkar
Panchami. Just as the day denotes the advent of Omkarnathdev, it denotes
a special opportunity for devotees to celebrate the occasion of His
descent. The 3 day long celebration has begun in Mahamilan
Math, Kolkata. Today, Rev Gopal Panditmosai started Gurupuja at 8.01am
[the moment of Thakur’s Birth]. Shyamsundar Shyamrani, Ma Annapurna and
other Deities had put on their most gorgeous attires to celebrate the
divine day. Numerous devotees offered Puspanjali in GuruMandir.
Nagarkirtan started from Mahamilan Math, traversed the roads, and came
back to continue akhanda Nam in the Asram. ThakurKatha started
thereafter, and many important topics were discussed, let me glance
through few interesting points covered by the speakers--
# once
Thakur was in Gujrat during Omkar Panchami. He had told His sevak—‘now
its not the time for holding Sudarsan Chakra or DhanurBan, I will
conquer everything only by the weapon of Naam.’
# Nam and Prema are
the most important aspects of Thakur’s leela. Once, in Gurupurnima, many
devotees had gathered. A military doctor has seen in the Ladies line
[he was talking to his wife]. Thakur expressed fury from the stage, and
the doctor felt insulted and refused to go to Thakur. But Thakur called
Him and garlanded him and said—‘’if an old father rebukes his son to
ensure discipline, why will u get angry?” But the man was reluctant and
wasn’t apologetic. That night, he sent to bed, and whenever he fell
asleep, he saw Thakur pampering him with loving words. Next morning, he
came running to Thakur’s asram to beg for Diksha.
# Thakur’s
emphasis on Varnasram, AharSuddhi, Shastra Bidhis is indeed a part of
His ‘dharma santhapan leela’. We should try to revere the Sanatan ideals
in order to sanctify our lives.
# Paramhasadev used to say- ‘when
Ram came, only the 12 Rishis recognized Him, others called Him
Dasarath’s son.’… Its indeed difficult to recognize His Identity. When
Sitaram came, indeed the Rishis had recognized Him. Dasarathidev
[Sitaram’s Guru] had recognized Him, and had asked for Viswarup darsan.
Later also, numerous preachers, prophets, gurus, sadhaks had humbly came
to Thakur to offer pranam, and many had recognized Him as Lord
Incarnate.
# once Sri Madhav Swamiji [Thakur’s Nitya sevak and Leela
parsad] was asked- ‘please state some supernatural incident of Thakur ,
that you have seen .’ Swamiji had said—‘ Everything is divine/
supernatural in Baba’s leela. Nothing in Baba’s lila is
worldly/natural!’
# Nam is the primary Message of Sri Sri Thakur.
Nam is the easiest path amidst all yogas of bhakti, karma, gyan kriya
etc. Nam is the spiritual remedy for one and all, irrespective of caste,
gender, religion or nationality…
After Thakur Katha, the book ‘Our
Master’ was formally innaugurated by Kinkar Vithhal Ramanuj [President
of Akhil Bharat Jaiguru Sampraday], and ‘Sitaram Mahasindhu teere’ was
innaugurated by Kinkar Samananda [VicePresident of Akhil Bharat Jaiguru
Sampraday]. The programme was followed by Prasad distribution…
Besides Mahamilan Math, Thakur’s Janmostav has been celebrated in
numerous asrams and homes all across the country. At JaiGuruMath
[Bhadreswar], there was special puja, Namkirtan, Prasad, Nagarparikrama.
Last year on OmkarPanchami, Thakur and MadhavSwamiji’s Vigrahas were
enshrined in Bhadreswar, and thus a quick afternoon visit to Bhadreswar
made the day more blissful.
In the evening, at Mahamilan Math,
the Dharmasabha was graced by the presence of Kinkar Vithhal ramanuj,
Kinkar Samananda, Sri Bandhu Gauravji [of Jagatbandhu Sundar’s asram],
Sri Binod Krishna Goswami [heir of Nityananda Prabhu], other saints and
delegates. The Sabha was to be followed by musical recital of Srikumar
Chattopadhyay.
The ended with the message of His eternal abirvab… I
remember what Sri Madhav swamiji had written— [translated]- ‘Wherever
Thakur’s Sri-bigraha exists, the Kundalini-awakening power is intensely
scattred there in all directions—so just by His darsan, a person’s
Param-kalyan is sure to occur….
Those who are unfortunately deprived
of His darsan, they need not be depressed. Thakur’s holy-feet is
all-pervasive, His graceful vision is very vast—the heart of anyone who
contemplates Him will surely be filled with His blessing – there’s no
doubt about this fact…'
