Cannot filter samples in clustered heatmap by a certain phenotype

In one of our projects, we have 4 columns defined in samples.csv, and one of these is a binary variable. We cannot filter the heatmap by this variable for some reason, even though it is possible to split and group by it. What could cause this?

I can give you the csv files to replicate if necessary.
