All:

I just checked in revision 24 into subversion. The GUI application
bloodpressure.py now has preliminary support for the "A&D Digital
Blood Pressure Monitor model UA-767PC". I'm not endorsing this
device..in fact I'm finding it quite difficult to work with and it
uses a serial port. I am still unable to get most of the
functionality of the device working, but I am able to read the blood
pressure from the device.

I'm using a USB-to-serial adapter. Technically speaking if the device
has a driver for the OS, then it should be platform dependent. It
worked out of the box on Ubuntu 9.1 (Linux) and I also got the USB-to-
serial device working on Windows, but MAC OSX Leopard did not like the
Belkin device. I'm making use of the serial module in Python which is
supported on all operating systems including Windows and Mac.

Bottom line, if you have a working serial port, then this app should
work without any problems. You can still use it without the device,
you just have to put the data in manually.

I hope to get a couple more devices form other manufactures working as
time and budget permits. USB or even Wireless is much more ideal than
serial connected devices. I'd like to see a device with its own IP
and web interface...something that works like a Linksys broadband
router w/ a REST API would be super cool in my opinion.

Peace,
