Someone left dirty/smelly socks in my car. This is gross. If they're not claimed by tomorrow morning, I'm throwing them out.

They are my socks. I cannot pick them up. I insist that you maintain them in the condition in which they were found until I return from California at an unspecified time in the future.

I'll put them in the freezer for the time being. Are you satisfied with this solution? I do not believe I can slow down bacterial activity within the fabric further than inhibition in a 278K freezer.
