When I click between the menu (home/library/store) it takes each a long time to load. Like 8 seconds. On videos it looks like it's almost instant to switch between these. Is anyone elses running slowly?

I have an RTX2070 with 97...@4.8Ghz and Quest2 and OpenXR ToolKit: Here are my settings:
NOTE: If things get real slow, best to CTRL-TAB MSFS to nonVR, take down Oculus Link/Airlink and restart it. It appears to me that limited VRAM is the issue

My oculus quest 1 keeps showing a black screen when playing games then the game crashes and its stuck in a black screen with 3 dots. my tracking also keeps bugging out, it loses my controllers and makes me redraw my boundary almost constantly, i dont have many games on there and storage is fine but it is very slow sometimes and the fps goes horrible even when in the oculus home, no idea why this is happening please help me.

Hello. I've noticed that the wifi connection is terribly slow and unreliable on my Oculus Quest 2. It's both between Oculus and external servers and Oculus and other devices plugged to the same network.

Similarly - I've never been able to reliably stream video from Oculus to my smartphone through the Oculus app. It does work, but it's terribly choppy - I'm speaking 1 frame-per-second-or-less-choppy. From what I understand it's going directly through the wifi without going through any external servers. Why is it so slow then?? I've seen people stream their gameplays smoothly to their TVs or phones without any issues...

I am playing downloaded 4-7K VR videos using SLR, interactive scripts and Launch by putting videos in the Oculus Quest2 256 Gb memory, this produces very good playback . I can only put about 8 - 10 movies and then it reaches maximum memory, so when I want to watch a new movie I have to delete and reload. Reloading about 200G of movies takes about an hour from the PC. I tried DNLA. I managed to connect to my PC that is connected to the router via Lan cable (1 GBps ethernet), I used 5 Ghz Wifi. I noticed that it takes a long time to load the file directory (often sometimes never), then when I play a video does buffer when changing places and occasionally stops and buffers. I also tried it using my laptop (movies on HD) connected to the router via 5 Ghz wifi and the playback is terrible, 10 seconds of buffering for 3 seconds or so of play. I am not sure if DeoVR can read files on a PC through the oculus link cable, anyone tried, or is there another way to get reasonable play back through DNLA or other method, especially on a laptop.

Having said that, we will proceed to close this inquiry now from our end. We will leave the thread open in case other users want to participate, but if you need any additional information from Intel, please submit a new question as this thread will no longer be monitored.

100kb/s download speeds? i get 10x more than that on quest1. im using a wifi4 (802.11n) router right now, still waiting for my wifi6 router to arrive. i know its an old router, but... why is it so slow on quest2 while with quest1 it works just fine? i get full bars and wifi signal shows as EXCELLENT in quest2. reconnected wifi a few times, rebooted the headset and router, checked the quest1 again... all good, its just ridiculously slow on the quest2. downloading for over an hour and it only finished around 500mb of one of the larger games i want to install.

I have an issue where when I attempt to play a 5K video, the audio runs okay but the video is slow, so the playback is out of sync. Is this something I can fix through settings somewhere on the app, headset or PC, or is my hardware too weak?

No, your hardware is more than enough to handle the video above 5k. It's just DeoVR has some difficulties handling the 10bit video output. If you transcode the video from 10bit to 8bit, even 8k videos will play smoothly. I think this is a pipeline issue, because the decoder is only working at 60% for 10bit videos, not 100%. Something in the pipeline has cause the traffic to slow down and the decoder didn't get the full data to decode in time.

Now when I play a 3630p 10 bit video in Windows Media Player, the playback is insufferably slow and jumpy. The CPU usage drops to 65% to 80% !! Meanwhile the GPU decoder usage is still 0%.
This means the Microsoft Media Player (with HEVC codec) also suffers from the same issue like DeoVR player ! It's in fact worse, because in DeoVR at least I can make the GPU do the decoding, but in Windows Media Player, there is nothing you can do.

Hi All,

I'm considering switching away from Sky but i'd like to use the forum to try and have one last chance at resolving this issue that has plagued me all year. I seem to be getting quite a bit of packet loss when gaming and I get really slow downloads on my oculus quest 2 when updating or downloading from the quest store. This issue started occuring at the start of the year and I've even had my hub replaced along with switching all of my cables.

Packet Loss/My Setup

Thank you for good advice. I did some tests with merge meshes and when merging large meshes it tended to become quite slow with babylonjs. Are you using the MergeMeshes function or have you written your own implementation? Ideally it would be useful to be able to add and remove small meshes to the environment mesh without needing to re-merge everything each time. I implemented something like this for threejs but I am not a bit hesitant starting to write something like that for babylonjs is as it is tricky and time consuming.

It is not uncommon for the Oculus Quest 2 to have some kind of glitch in the system that will cause games not to load, to install forever, or work very slowly. This is very frustrating, but can be fixed very easily.

So, I am trying to extract raw PCM data from compressed audio files "in one go", i.e. reading the entire file as fast as possible and outputting the result (no "streaming"). I've got a working async-based implementation using MediaExtractor and MediaCodec, but it's rather slow - it takes 50 seconds for a 6 MB mp3 file. I've seen other apps do this in

4. Reduce network congestion: If you share your internet connection with multiple devices, especially during peak hours, network congestion can occur and slow down your download speeds. Prioritize your Oculus Quest 2 by disconnecting or disabling unnecessary devices or applications that may be consuming bandwidth.
