Tumblr how to ask: I can't see date post on tumblr mobile by clicking the 3 horzantial dots anymore ever since the last two recent updates I have to scroll really fast to see the dates. Once when I wasn't paying attention and it popped up, but I was like half asleep so I don't know how I did it. I just want to know the date because my dash is all over the place. If you find out how I will be very appreciative. Stupid Tumblr always changing shit!!!? Thank you.?
You'll continue to be able to view Post+ content until January 2024, when subscriber-only content will be marked as private. Then, it will be up to the creator to determine whether they want to make those posts public.
Yes! Tipping will remain available to everyone. You can enable Tipping in your Blog Settings on web (Account Settings on mobile). Once enabled, any original post can receive a Tip (you can disable Tipping on posts you don't want folks to be able to Tip), with the money going directly to the creator.
As everyone is probably aware by now, the biggest problem with polls is that they make posts permanently uneditable. The instant you publish, the edit button is grayed out and you can never fix any typos, correct inaccurate information, change the poll duration, or change reblog permissions.
Recently due to changes on Tumblrs posting you may encounter a small issue where photo posts are displaying as a text post would. Symptoms include container box having a scrollbar or blank space around the image.

Thinspiration is content advocating extreme weight loss by means of images and/or text posts. While past content analyses have examined thinspiration content on social media and other websites, no research to date has examined thinspiration content on Tumblr. Over the course of a week, 222 images and text posts were collected after entering the keyword 'thinspiration' into the Tumblr search bar. These images were then rated on a variety of characteristics. The majority of thinspiration images included a thin woman adhering to culturally based beauty, often posing in a manner that accentuated her thinness or sexuality. The most common themes for thinspiration text posts included dieting/restraint, weight loss, food guilt, and body guilt. The thinspiration content on Tumblr appears to be consistent with that on other mediums. Future research should utilize experimental methods to examine the potential effects of consuming thinspiration content on Tumblr.
Blogs with large numbers of posts (over 5000 posts) will find this most noticeable. The app uses the Tumblr API which has minute/hour rate limits. Storing post content primarily as HTML has remained our standard for ten years; there are a significant number of assumptions in our codebase about posts being primarily HTML. To compound this, when we want to change something about how posts are made or stored, we have to think in terms of the 150 billion posts on Tumblr and the billion new posts made every month. We have to spend a lot of time thinking about that scale whenever we consider how to make posting on Tumblr a better experience.
Over a year ago, Tumblr Engineering came up with a very ambitious idea: ditch HTML entirely and move to a brand new format for how posts are created and stored. HTML is fine, but its scope is limited as it was intended for the browser, long before the concept of mobile apps existed. Conversely, the JSON standard has been heavily favored by APIs and mobile development for years, and feels much cleaner and more flexible than HTML. We can apply an extensible format and schema with JSON easier than we can with HTML.
This new JSON specification also gives us the benefit of not having to worry as much about potential security risks in malicious HTML payloads in post content. Moving from HTML to JSON allows us to have safer, more injection-proof defaults, and prevents us from having to do heavy DOM parsing at runtime, which means improved performance of our backend and mobile apps. With NPF, posting and viewing posts on Tumblr should be considerably faster and safer.
Future releases of the mobile apps will continue to close the gap with our other post options as we build NPF support for link blocks, video upload blocks, third-party video and audio blocks, and more. We also plan on allowing third-party API consumers to view and create posts using the new specification sometime in the future.

All posts in violation of the policy are hidden from public view, and repeat offenders may be reprimanded.[67][68] Shortly prior to the announcement, Tumblr's Android app was patched to remove the ability to disable Safe Mode.[69]
On the day the ban took effect, Tumblr issued a new post clarifying the new policy, showcasing examples of adult images still allowed on the service, and stating that it "fully recognized" its "special obligation" to serving its LGBT userbase, and that "LGBTQ+ conversations, exploration of sexuality and gender, efforts to document the lives and challenges of those in the sex worker industry, and posts with pictures, videos, and GIFs of gender reassignment surgery are all examples of content that is not only permitted on Tumblr but actively encouraged."[77]
