Wecreated this course by gathering dozens of case study examples from students who had been through interviews at all types of real estate firms: real estate private equity, real estate developers, real estate lenders, and real estate-focused banks.
In this module, you will complete a 4-hour real estate development modeling test for an office property in the City of London (100 Bishopsgate). You will expand on the simplified 90-minute version in the introductory module and build in support for a monthly schedule with flexible refinancing and exit dates and multiple scenarios.
You will also add support for tenants with different lease types, calculate returns to both the equity and mezzanine investors, build a mixed IRR/multiple-based waterfall schedule, and add support for the Lookback Provision using VBA code.
In this case study, you will build a multifamily acquisition and credit analysis model and make an investment recommendation for the Senior Loan, Mezzanine, and Preferred Equity used to fund the deal.
Finally, you will build a DCF to value the property, evaluate comparable properties and a Replacement Cost analysis, and answer case study questions about the debt and equity, the operating assumptions, the risk factors, and the valuation.
In this case study, you will build an acquisition and renovation model for a mixed-use office/retail property and make investment recommendations for the Limited Partners, General Partners, Senior Lenders, and Mezzanine Investors.
In this case study, you will build a condo development model for the Heritage Cyrela, a super-high-end luxury complex in So Paulo. You will then use the model to make investment recommendations for the Limited Partners and Developers and identify the key risk factors in the deal.
So, if you want to master cash flow projections, lease modeling, and investment analysis as they are used in these industries and hit the ground running on Day 1 of your internship or full-time job, this training is your best option.
Breaking Into Wall Street is the only financial modeling training platform that uses real-life modeling tests and interview case studies to give you an unfair advantage in investment banking and private equity interviews - and a leg up once you win your offer and start working.

Michael has spent a decade managing, consulting, and working in various capacities on more than $8 billion worth of real estate opportunities. Most recently, he worked at Hines managing large-scale development projects in San Francisco. Currently, Michael makes opportunistic and value add private investments in commercial real estate.
Spencer and Michael started Adventures in CRE in their first year of graduate school. Since that time, the two have contributed over 500 in-depth articles on real estate financial modeling, careers, education, and artificial intelligence; built and shared over 70 institutional-quality real estate financials models; developed an extensive glossary of real estate terms; recorded over 125 tutorial videos and developed the most comprehensive real estate financial modeling training program available.
To complete the 17 courses in the core curriculum, you should expect to commit approximately 100 hours, depending on your current proficiency. Some courses are less intense than others, but most students spend 4-8 hours to complete each course.
These courses are on-demand, with pre-recorded video and audio lectures and accompanying Excel, Word, and PDF files. The student-instructor forums are actively monitored and questions answered by the A.CRE team.
The Accelerator can be taken on either a PC or Mac. But keep in mind that we teach using a Windows PC. So guidance on keyboard shortcuts will not be compatible with Excel for Mac although the formulas will be the same.
While the Accelerator curriculum is comprehensive, no curriculum can get to it all. This was the primary driver to adding Specialty Endorsements. Over 3 years we answered thousands of questions, created advanced learning tutorials, and finally curated those lessons and tutorials into six specialty endorsements.
Spencer and Michael use the Q&A as an outlet to expand on existing concepts and teach new ones. The Q&A responses are well-thought-out mini lectures, using examples and sometimes even video tutorials to answer the questions.
Yes. In fact, around 15-20% of Accelerator members reside outside the U.S. We also partner with multiple institutional investors to train their analysts and associates throughout offices in Europe, Asia, and other locations. The Accelerator teaches underwriting methodology that is applicable broadly. And while there are certainly nuances to how deals are underwritten in different parts of the world, Spencer and Michael are aware of those and can address any questions students may have in the Q&A section of the program.
Accelerator Advanced: The Accelerator Advanced membership level includes everything in the Accelerator Core membership level, plus five additional specialty endorsement curricula to further your learning beyond the core curriculum. The Accelerator Advanced membership level lasts for one year. You can extend your membership thereafter at a reduced rate. We have also now added a module with recordings of all previous A.CRE Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions, where students can explore questions and answers related to advanced technical modeling questions and various topics impacting the CRE industry.
Advanced Plus+: The Advanced Plus+ membership level includes everything in the Accelerator Advanced membership level, plus adds the A.CRE Financial Models bundle. The Advanced Plus + membership level lasts for one year. You can extend your membership thereafter at a reduced rate.
The A.CRE Financial Models bundle includes lifetime downloads and updates of our 36 most popular real estate financial models in our A.CRE library. The bundle is a convenient way to own 36 institutional-quality real estate models all at once, in one place, and at a price substantially lower than what one would typically pay for all models.
Note: the models in the A.CRE Financial Models bundle are not used in the Accelerator courses, but rather are institutional-quality, production-ready real estate financial models used by thousands of professionals everyday.
Yes. As an Accelerator member, you have the option to extend your membership in six month increments beyond the initial one year period at a reduced cost of $199 per six months. The extension is not processed automatically however, so you must manually process that extension through a link included in your Membership Details page of the Accelerator Learning Dashboard.
Yes, the program is compatible so long as you have a version of Excel for Mac 2013 or newer. While the models used in the Accelerator were built in Excel for PC, those files are cross-compatible with Excel for Mac. The one limitation is that the instructors often call out keyboard shortcuts in their videos and those keyboard shortcuts are specific to Excel for PC. But we share the keyboard shortcuts for Excel for Mac as a supplement in the Accelerator.
