Cannot segment Japanese files by sentence

I can't understand how to segment Japanese files by sentence using the Japanese "period" ( 。). There doesn't seem to be any explanation of how to set up the segmentation rules that are needed in the User Guide, and the default rules the OmegaT+ application had when I downloaded it don't work. I guess I need to know how to customize the rules, as it says in the User Guide, but I don't know how.

The segmentation rules are basically like glob patterns or regular expressions. You can look at some of the default ones, say in English, to get an idea as to how to create a new one.
