I'm running OmegaT+ 1.0.M3 on Ubuntu. When I try to translate into Spanish, I cannot write any letters with graphic accents, such as á, é, ó, etc. All other keys work perfectly and I've had no other problem using other sofware in this same distro (web browsers, LibreOffice, etc).

Any idea why this can happen?

One possibility is that the font you are using does not support those characters. You can check by trying to copy/paste text with those characters into an active segment to see if they will display properly. If you see funny square boxes or question mark symbols then this means that the font is wrong. In this case, open the font dialog and change it. Apply a different font to see if the text you just put in becomes legible.

If you are using the program in Spanish (Settings > Locale menu) everything will display properly unless the font is wrong also (another way to see if it is correct). I just tried Spanish on my side, and by looking at text in an active segment, and it works with the default font on my version of Ubuntu.

Another possibility will be that the keyboard mapping is not right for some reason. Let's see if the first idea is the problem and we can try to figure it out from there.

Regards,

Raymond

Hmm, possibly. I will check on my side (Ubuntu with KDE and
PCLinuxOS).
Let me know if you find the root of the problem so I can make a note
for the benefit of future users
who may have find the same problem.

Thanks,

Raymond
