Earth Day, A New Way:
Halting Technology that Destroys Ecology
HaltMAsmartmeters
and StopSmartMetersMassachusetts offer a free community
forum about not-so Green Energy, Tuesday, April 23 from
7:00 – 8:30 pm at the Lanesville Community Center, 8
Vulcan Street, Gloucester, MA.
Joining forces with citizens in over 30 states, activists state that the smart meter grid is exorbitantly costly to ratepayers. The National Institute for Law and Public Policy has concluded that the technology isn’t smart, green, safe, healthy, or effective, and doesn’t conserve energy. The pulsed microwave radiation utilized to power the wireless mesh network between home utility meters radiates at power densities that are illegal in most other nations.
Due
to escalating health issues, cost, and lack of proven
benefit, the groups are calling to end human and
ecological experimentation being conducted without the
knowledge or consent of citizens and without adequate
safety testing, including lack of UL certification.
Local
resident Patricia Burke, who became functionally impaired
in California due to installation of new electricity
infrastructure, will present an overview of the grid and
address civil rights concerns and emerging health
challenges related to dirty electricity and RF radiation.
