All:
1. CONGRATS to Robin Austin who will be inducted as a new fellow in the American Academy of Nursing (AAN) at the annual meeting in Washington, DC, October 31-November 2! This is a great honor for Robin. If you want to send a congratulatory message to her, email it to quis...@umn.edu.
2. Did you read Marleen Versteeg’s exciting announcement on Monday about the March 2025 ACENDIO (Association for Common European Diagnoses, Interventions, and Outcomes) Conference in Rotterdam?! She was inviting YOU to submit an abstract before October 30, 2024! It will be super to have speakers describe their Omaha System successes. Marleen will post more details about the Conference soon.
3. More conferences will occur soon in a number of countries. They are such good educational and networking opportunities for diverse participants involved in practice, education, research, and software development.
a. You may want to attend American Public Health Association (APHA) in Minneapolis, Minnesota October 27-30, 2024. To scan the program, see https://apha.confex.com/apha/2024/meetingapp.cgi/. I saw many familiar names on the program; please post on the Listserv or send an email to me so Listserv members can plan to attend your sessions and meet each other.
b. IF you attend APHA or other meetings or conferences, PLEASE send .jpg photos to me of those who speak, present posters, moderate or chair sessions or meetings, etc. and are involved with the Omaha System. Note that the Photo Gallery currently includes 2024 photos from HIMSS and MNRS https://www.omahasystem.org/2024 . Will add the June University of Minnesota Big Data Science Conferences photos soon. Erin, our super Webmaster, will add your photo to a conference posting if you attended and are not included in the current photos.
I would be delighted to hear from you, especially about upcoming meetings, conferences, and photos!

Notice the Subject line I am using today. Because of communicating with a number of you, I selected celebrate as my word for the week, month, what is left of 2024, and, very possibly, 2025! And, I’m asking you to consider and use the same action verb: if you are working with an individual, family, student, or faculty member; if you meet a colleague in the hall or your office; if you attend a staff meeting or international conference; or if you attend APHA!
APHA, October 27-30, 2024 in Minneapolis—a good opportunity to celebrate and “refill your bucket”!
