Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has a guide they’d be open to sharing for the problem “Social Contact” as a rating supplement tool, in particular for the Maternal Child Health population. We utilize this as part of documentation on social isolation surveillance/teaching/supports, as a leg of our mental health intervention (social support mobilization).
Thank you,

Hi Karina,
I hope you are well and having a wonderful holiday!
I don't know of any social contact KBS rating guidelines. I suggest you create one to share with the Omaha System community.

Hi Karina,
Thank goodness for old emails! I found this document in a message from 2010 August! It appears to be in draft form, and should be editable - so take a look and hopefully it will be helpful! :)

One more follow-up, if I may.
Do you happen to have access to information re: which LHJ’s were part of the Washington Omaha System Users Group previously? I’m wondering if they might have a copy of this MCH booklet, if it doesn’t exist elsewhere at the moment.
Thank you,
Karina

Hi Karen,
I appreciate the link to a page that holds the link to the 2010 supplement, and think that the table will be helpful in the third part of our project where we will be updating some of our KBS booklet rating information.
I am still wondering if there is a link to a copy of the MCH supplement booklet available anywhere. It would be easier to copy and paste the Substance Use pages and descriptions if possible rather than write in. I was not able to find “Maternal” or “MCH” when searching for the words in the DNP project.
With gratitude,
Karina

Yes, indeed!
See the section on KBS ratings - Omaha System Guidelines - Standardized Instruments
This contains numerous KBS rating definitions for all sorts of populations and programs. You can check it out here

Hello Karen,
Thank you for your reply and for sharing the new website!
I am actually not referring to a pathway, but a notebook that looks very similar to the following, however is specific to Maternal Child Health- Microsoft Word - OmahaSystemKBSRatingSupplement2010.docx. A main difference was that there is a KBS rating scale for substance use in pregnancy versus infancy/Toddlerhood. We are less focused at this time on the pathway creation, and more so on the ability to have inter rater reliability with KBS’ing.
Also wondering if there is a spot on the new website for that Rating supplement that I am missing; I’d love to bookmark it in case future version come up.
With gratitude,
Karina

You don't often get email from mons...@umn.edu. Learn why this is important

Hi Karina!
Great to hear from you. I'm guessing you're referring to the NFP pathway on the omahasystemmn.org website.
We also have omahasystemguidelines.org with many evidence-based pathways - have you checked out the family home visiting care plan there?
There is at least one intervention "Interpersonal relationship-Surveillance-interaction-status of relationships, social support" and perhaps others which may meet your needs.
If not, I would be more than happy to have your input on improving the family home visiting guideline on omahasystemguidelines.org
The other NFP guideline is a legacy website and may be more difficult to update.
That does not stop you from customizing your documentation as needed which you can always do.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Hello,
As a nurse at an NFP site, I was reaching out as we have been using the “Omaha System KBS Rating Guide for Maternal and Child Health” where mn...@peacefuldriver.net is listed as a contact; that email address appears to be inactive. I was wondering if you happen to have an access point for the electronic version of this document given I saw this email listed on the Washington State Omaha System Users Group minutes? We’re hoping to add in a few categories that would support our program documentation, including Social Isolation.
Thank you,
Karina
