Original OMG members: I need your help!
If you are an original member of OMG who still pays your keyholder or family monthly membership dues through the OMG PayPal account, this message is for you!
One of the challenges we've had during the merge is that PayPal doesn't let you transfer ownership of their accounts. This means that it's very hard for me to manage members who are still using the legacy PayPal membership option from before OMG merged with Made New.
You can help by transferring your membership over to our new member system on the Made New Makerspace website. I've made this very easy, and as agreed in the merger docs, we will honor the membership dues rate you were paying at OMG. In fact, to thank you for switching (and to help those who are in the middle of a billing cycle), if you transfer your membership over to the MNM site, I'll give you your first month under the new system for FREE!
Here's how to transfer your membership:
1) Visit the Made New site at
https://madenewomaha.com/joinomg/2) Select the current membership level you hold, whether that's the keyholder (single key card) or family (two key cards) plan. (Don't warry about the prices - we change that on the next step.)
3) After you select your plan, you'll come to a page to enter your information. At the top there is a link that says "Click here to enter your discount code." Click that link and enter the discount code "OMGXFER". This will change the rate to the original OMG rate and give you the first month for free.
4) Complete the rest of the information, set up your billing method, and submit. You are now set up on the MNM membership site. Remember your login info, you'll want it to manage your account!
5) IMPORTANT! After all this is done, go to your PayPal account and cancel the OMG subscription so you won't get billed from PayPal
If you have any problems with this process, or if you have questions, send me a message at
j...@madenewomaha.com.
There are some really great perks to doing this. The Made New Makerspace site has a very nice members portal. On this portal , there are quick links to all the important OMG/MNM documents, a members directory, and other goodies. In the future we'll be adding a new tool documentation page, instructional videos, and other items to the member account page, and the only way to access those tools will be by having a membership account on the site.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
