Thanks everyone!  No, I won't.  Yumi actually lives in Ohio and has been in the US for nearly half her life.  She'll be coming to Japan to live with me for a few years, and then after that, wherever things take us.  I started dating her back in December.  She's pretty rad. :)

I suppose its possible I could settle in Japan, but there's definitely a give and take here.  At least where I am, its not the futuristic utopia everyone seems to think it is.  Its often delightfully backward, in fact. It is pretty, though.  I'm surrounded by rice fields and forests, ocean and mountains.  There is a train that goes over 250mph, but most people travel by bicycle or 60hp car at somewhere around 15-20mph.  Food is cheap and good, with no tipping, but my utility bill in winter is $800 per month because they haven't figured out that the use of sources other than kerosene for heat, such as geothermal energy (abundant here) is probably more economical. So it goes.
