So a few weeks back I was robbed patio door was broken down took my bike a couple old iPods a Bag of chips. But most importantly they took my Leatherman Skeletool.

That being said my insurance had paid out and I am now in the market for a new Multitool. So I'm throwing it to you guys what is your favorite multitool? I've been looking mostly at the Leatherman Wave and the like. SOG makes some good ones but they are more geared toward projectile weapon repair.

What do you guys own?

My primary tool is the Leatherman Tactical Wave, with the 40-bit assortment:
Although I do not use this for EDC, I keep it at my desk at home and it generally serves as my primary tool for most "in house" repairs.  Saves me from burrowing in the basement for tools in the shop, unless I need something specific.  When I travel, this is usually the tool I carry (assuming I am checking luggage or not traveling by plane).

I carry the standard Gerber slide out tool, with a 7 bit attachment set.  I'm an electronics tech, and having the single handed opening, is a great function for me.  A long time ago, before it got stolen, I carried the Swiss Army Knife multi-tool.  It was heaver than my Gerber, but was very rugged.

Do the wing covers get in the way when you have a tool open or do they close down after you open the tool for a better grip?

On a side note I've noticed that some of the Leatherman tools now use pentalobe security bolts to hold the unit together. But how often do you really need to take apart a multitool? http://www.leatherman.com/product/Wave look at the bolts on zoom.

I contemplated taking apart one of my multitools to remove the blades and non-TSA-compliant tools.  But I considered that I would almost certainly get snagged every time I went through the checkpoints and would spend a LOT of time waiting for them to open everything and determine that there was nothing harmful (in their minds) in the tool.  I abandoned that idea....

Otherwise, I don't think I've ever had a need to take any of the tools apart.

its awesome, i noticed the new waves dont have the single piece of metal for the small screwdriver,it doesnt look as strong, and they comes with a nylon case instead of a leather one. Look at this box design http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Leatherman-Wave-Multi-tool-and-Leather-Case-/271212849435?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f258ba91b looks older than 1998
