A co-worker is getting rid of an old refrigerator. It's functional but older and moldy ( was left unplugged for too long). He'd be willing to bring it to the space ( or maybe some other location if you ask nicely enough ) if someone wants to use/scrap it.

I've been pricing out tiny fridges to use as a cold source for my lab, so I'd be interested in obtaining it to rebuild into a more compact form.

Any idea which style of condenser it has? Big wire grid on the back, or maybe a smaller coil with fan underneath?

I sent my reply from the wrong email for the mailing list. Oops.

For anyone else paying attention the fridge has the coils on the back.

If you can bring it down to OMG I'll try to turn it into something useful.

Basic plan is to reconfigure it into a smaller form factor using a combination of sawing, bending, and swearing.

If that does not look like it will work, I might instead transplant the workings into a small chest freezer I have that quit working.
