Does anyone have anything they want to present on? I know we have had
votes for Joomla 1.6/1.7.

Since 1.7 is coming out in the next couple weeks, I think it would be
best to hold tat discuss off until next month. We should be back at
DOT.COMM I believe, so a formal meeting room will make the
presentation easier. Unless someone wants to present on it, I will
assume that I am presenting on it.

If we can not secure a location, we can always meet at a Panera (or
place like it) and do a general discussion/round-table/Q&A type
meeting.

I'm open to pretty much anything. :)

I'm waiting on a callback on another meeting space option but starting
to run out of ideas. The fellow that schedules the hyvee community
rooms is supposed to be back tomorrow.

Another option is the millard library (as Bruce had suggested), I spoke
to the library and they do have a room available for the 11th but the
room needs to be locked up by 8PM when they close.
Coffee shops are okay, too.

In my opinion 8:00 is too early. We might want to have it at a coffee
shop somewhere and do a roundtable Q&A. I enjoy those actually. Does
anyone else?

re: panera, two in omaha have meeting rooms:
eagle run on maple, and the one on saddlecreek.
the one on saddlecreek is open to everyone and can't be reserved
the one on maple can be reserved up thru the end of the year, but July
11th is booked.

If we are just going to do general round-table discussion, we can just
push some tables together... nothing formal is needed. Thoughts?

Hey Duane,

I just want to make sure you are still holding the ball on this. :) If
you passed it to someone else, please let me know. :)

I'm still calling around for meeting alterntives. I spoke to hyvee
about using their community room; they have a charge to groups that use
the room, which is then given back to the group as store credit to
purchase merchandise. It would be $50 per meeting, which then can be
used to buy $50 of groceries.

An informal roundtable at a coffee shop is an excellent idea (no formal
room necessary).

Does anyone have a favorite spot that would work ??

What about Panera Bread by Oakview Mall? http://tinyurl.com/3bxjf3u

They are open until 9PM on Mondays.

I'd give input but being new to the area, I don't know much about the
area and don't know anyone IN the area. Sorry I can't be much help at
this time

I'll also state that there is no reason for us to pay to have our
meetings. As a group, we do not have dues (nor do I think we should)
and it would be be fair to anyone to have to pay for this our of their
own pocket. ... just my two cents ::)

agreed, just not finding much that fits the time and price parameters.
only reporting what I am finding.
the area around the garden cafe, right off the interstate, worked well.
maybe there are some other options like this.

here is another coffee shop possibility -- right on the corner of
rockbrook, java and ice
http://www.rockbrookvillage.com/shops/merchant/02.html
I spoke to them, they said they would "most definitely" have tables
available by 7pm
Also, I have a new android tablet, the android browser has some
peculiarities, I'll bring it (to wherever the meeting is) if you want to
look at your sites. You would think it is just Chrome, but from what I'm
seeing that's not always the case.

Well, given that it is Friday, I'll let you make the final
decision. :) I think it looks like a fine location. Please create a
new post announcing the get together. If possible, please provide a
link to Google Maps that pinpoints the location. :) thanks Duane!
