Social Entrepreneurship Meeting 7 PM Lau 2 this Tuesday

Hi all,
The planning committee for the third annual Georgetown University
Social Entrepreneurship Competition will be meeting on Tuesday night
on the second floor of the library at 9 pm. Social Entrepreneurship is
the practice of applying business principles to address social issues.
In the last 2 years competitions we attracted over 80 business
proposals from Georgetown Students, awarded $10,000 of startup capital
and built countless relationships between leading entrepreneurs and
students. Last year we supported a solar water purification start up
in africa and bike rental service in DC both founded by georgetown
students.

Georgetown is working to create a strong tradition of entrepreneurship
and just appointed a director of entrepreneurial studies. Working with
GUSEC is a great way to get in on the ground floor of this effort. It
is also a great way to build connections with leaders in the business
and not for profit sector. We assemble a team of highly qualified
judges for a final event and group of mentors to help students develop
their business proposals and this contact is invaluable.
