Hey gang,

On a separate text thread concerning scary ass maps and web site updates, Herb asked Jenn to increase the price from $10 to $20.  I pushed back some because I think the $10 price is especially inviting to students.  He agreed and suggested the 4K remain $10, the other distances go to $20.

I still question the raise in price.  I really enjoy having a cheap, good quality, fun run once a year.  Is there a good reason to raise it.  Do we really need the money?  I think we still come ahead at $10.

Okay, let me know if I need to switch things back. --Also the Scary Ass page does need to be updated more, it's showing 2021 results and was never updated to show 2022 results.

We might want to have a system in place for things like this so I'm not updating the website multiple times. It would be easier if we had all the info together in the beginning so it's updated all at once.

Thanks.

I support the price increase. $20 is still not even close to expensive.  All of our race prices should be reviewed at the meeting as well. A $10 increase on most entry prices will keep us well below other races and help mitigate the rising cost of stuff in the past few years.

Also I think keeping the 4K cheaper is ideal for families and students. Heck I don’t even mind if we let kids do it for free even. We can always add them on race day and not charge.

I feel the same as Jason on both…. I think $20 is insanely cheap still for what kind of race we put on and everything that is provided.  That would be cheap even if we did nothing but time it. But we do so much more to put on a cool event.

I support making it  free or ‘donation only’ for kids ..    which can also justify the increase on the other race.

Good stuff

Thanks everyone.  I'm ok with the price change but think it is appropriate that we vet stuff like this before a decision is made.  I'm a huge advocate for giving back to the community so if we don't need the money, why raise the price.  The Scary Ass to me is just a fun event to encourage people to come out and have a good time.

So if I understand correctly, the way it is not is good. $10 for 4K, $20 for the other 2 distances.

Agreed. Think it makes sense to discuss any/all price changes at board meetings before any action is taken.

I’m okay with the increase - $20 for longer two and $10 for shorter, and agree we should discuss at BOD mtg.

Catching up now. Keeping the shorter race at $10 is smart. Happy to discuss how we handle price increases in the future at the board meeting.

Come with dinner eaten or in hand because the agenda is getting lengthy…
