Bank Robbery In West Olympia
On November 15th at 5:34pm the Wells Fargo Bank located at 1500 Black Lake Boulevard was robbed. A male in his late 50’s approached a teller at the bank and produced a note demanding an undisclosed amount of money. The teller gave the man money and the man then left the bank. A witness to the robbery confronted the suspect in the parking lot. The suspect then produced a handgun from his waistband that he brandished at the witness who then backed away. The suspect then walked a short distance and got into the passenger seat of a 1993 Buick Regal. When the driver of that vehicle attempted to drive away the pair got stuck in heavy rush hour traffic, delaying their departure. This allowed the witness to record the license plate number of the vehicle, Washington license AUM-9451. This license plate returned to a man who is depicted robbing the bank. Officers responding to the robbery narrowly missed the suspect, who was able to get through traffic and escape.
The suspect has been identified as James W. Brady, 59 years old. His whereabouts are unknown although he has resided in the Yelm area. He is wanted for the bank robbery. Mr. Brady should be considered armed and potentially dangerous. Anyone with information on Mr. Brady’s whereabouts are asked to call 911, Olympia Police Det. Sgt. Jeff Herbig (360)239-1154 or Detective Sean Lindros (360)753-8041.
